The Limassol Carnival 2020 is just around the corner and Lemesos presents you the program of the frenzied time of year.

Monday 17 February 2020 7.30 pm Cadets in the streets of the Holy Trinity Launched by the Municipal University Library Like the old years…. A stroll through the narrow and romantic alleys of the Holy Trinity with cantatas and nostalgic songs by Giorgalletos. Join us in remembering and singing, as in the beautiful old times. The evening is dedicated to candor a. Neocles Papatheodoulou.

Wednesday 19 February 2020 7.00 pm Theomaria Art Gallery (7 Vasilissis Karlottas Street & Eleni Paleologina) Theomaria Art Gallery hosts for the 14th consecutive year an exhibition of masks from different countries of the world and an art exhibition with the masks of Efthimios Vera Parallidou. There will also be a group exhibition on “Paliatsoi” from 28 February to 31 March. The “Limassol Cadet” team is participating. 8.00 pm Art Studio 55 Techno Space (Andrea Drousiotis Street 23 A, Iroon Square) The Municipality of Limassol in cooperation with the Pancyprian Association of Artists of the Two Borders Art organizes an exhibition on the Carnival. The Choir of the Cultural Group of the Municipality of Morphos participates. The exhibition will be opened by the Mayor of Limassol, Mr. Nikos Nikolaidis.

GRILL DAY 20 February 2020 11.00 am Carnival spree with music and treat in front of the Hellenic Bank (Gladstone Street, formerly the Limassol Co-operative Savings Bank) and the Bank of Cyprus (St. Andrew’s Street vs. Agia Napa Church). 12.30 pm The band “Limassol Canadians” sing at Saripolou Square for the whole world. 5.00 pm Grigori Avxentiou Square Grigoris Avxentiou Square (Commandos) comes to life and lures us to the rhythm of the Carnival with music and song. 5.30 pm The Batukinio percussion group raises the pace of the carnival with their presence. The celebration continues with the band “Latin Smile Salsa” 5.45 pm Town hall The Municipality of Limassol in cooperation with the Association of Self-taught Painters (Limassol) is organizing a Painting Exhibition on the theme “Carnival 2020”. The Municipal and Children’s Choir of the Municipality of Kato Polemidia participate. 6.15 pm Town hall The Mayor and the Municipal Council with the Limassol Philharmonic Orchestra, the Limassol Cheerleaders and the Cypriot Drivers’ Home Cheerleaders in the procession will head to Grigori Aksentiou Square (Administration). 7.00 pm King Lemesios, the Maharaja of the city, enters the city on an impressive chariot with his entourage. The King is surrounded by the Mayor and members of the City Council, the Royal Family, Giorgalletos and Arionas, the Limassol Philharmonic, the Cyprus Guides, the Percussionists and the Batukinio Percussion. 

Here in Limassol! Cut everyone in disguise! The parade will start at Grigori Aksentiou Square and follow the route: Independence, St. Andrew, Karaiskaki (Municipal University Library), Stasinou, Andreas Drousiotis and end at Iroon Square. A Carnivalist spree will follow with a song and dance from the band “The Carnaband”

Friday 21 February 2020 7.00 pm Limassol Medieval Castle Square Canadians scatter their melodies in the Medieval Castle Square Route: Eirini Street – Modern Times Cultural Club Building, ending at Medieval Castle Square. Contemporary Moderators, Limassol Candidates, Arion Candidates, Edon Limassol Candidates, EAC Employees Cultural Club Choir and the Philanthropic Male Vocal Ensemble. The Mahalekides Dance School is a waltz dance and travels us through the then romantic era.

Saturday 22 February 2020 10.30 am Hellenic Bank (former Limassol Cooperative Savings Bank, Gladstone Street) The train of the Municipality will make trips to the city center. The first route starts at 10.30 am. Priority will be adhered to for all children who come to the site. 11.00 am – 2.00 pm Grigori Avxentiou Square (Administrative Office) The Municipality of Limassol, in collaboration with Choice FM 104.3, is organizing the Hidden Treasure Hunt for the 12th consecutive year (memberships at www.choicefm.com.cy, info at 25 820820). 3.00 pm Limassol Cycling Club with carnivalist bikes in the city. Start and End: Medieval Castle Square. 6.00pm Candidates’ event outside the Municipal University Library. (St. Andrew’s) The Limassol Municipality, in collaboration with the Limassol Cadastre team, is organizing an event featuring cadets and carnivalist songs. Edon Limassol Canadians, Modern Times Canadians, Arion Canadians, the Limassol Canadians and the Ilantron Male Vocal Ensemble sing. A free drink will be offered. 8.00 pm Municipal Cultural Center of Panos Solomonides Studio8cto School of Art & Design and Limassol Municipality invites you to the “Revival of Old Limassol Carnival Tanks” event in memory of artist Kostas Mavrogenis. The artist’s remodeled chariot titled “Today Near Yesterday” will be handed over to Limassol Mayor Nicos Nicolaides, in the presence of the Municipal Council, the Royal Family of the Limassol Carnival by his son Andrea Mavroge. Participates in Men’s Tetraphonia under the direction of Panikkos Trimikliniotis Former Mayor of Limassol Mr. Dimitris Kontidis. The event is coordinated by Dr. Mimis Sophocleous and journalist Stella Savva.

Sunday 23 February 2020 11.30 am Children’s Carnival Parade Start: Seaside Road, Public Garden Traffic Lights, heading to the Old Port. Termination: Molos parking lot under the “Red” cafeteria (second parking lot). Our little carnivalists have their honor. The parade will be preceded by King Limassol Maharayas of the city with his impressive chariot. The Cyprus Drivers’ Cheerleaders and Limassol Cheerleaders are participating. 12.30 pm Kids and carnivalist songs by DJs in Old Port Square. 6.30 pm Event of Canadians outside Perama Giorgalletou’s Canadians sing for you. The event is dedicated to the founder of the group, a. George Giorgalletto. They will be honored for their offer to Giorgalletti’s Canadians, former Canadians.

Monday 24 February 2020 7.30 pm Municipal Cultural Center of Panos Solomonides The Municipal Cultural Center of Panos Solomonides is changing its appearance, decorating it with carnivalism. A photo exhibition is set up by the Municipality of Limassol in collaboration with the Cyprus Photographic Society – Limassol Section and presents the exhibition “Limassol Carnival 2019” 

A different carnival costume exhibition awaits you, dedicated to a. Lula Southmith. Cartoon Exhibition in collaboration with the Association of Cypriot Cartoons “GELA” and the “Lab of Cartoon and Sketch Pin”. The Cadets Arions and the Cheerleaders of Limassol are participating. The opening of the fairs will be by Limassol Mayor Nikos Nikolaidis. Tuesday, 25 February 2020 Canadians scatter their melodies in the districts of Limassol 7.30 pm The group of Cypriot Canadians in Zakaki. 7.30 pm The Cadets of EDON Limassol in Agios Nikolaos. 8.00 pm Pellomasca Night Parade The Limassol Municipality in collaboration with the Limassol Newspaper is organizing the Pellomaska ​​Night Parade. The parade will be preceded by the King of Carnival dressed in “Pellomask”, the Royal Family and the Cheerleaders of the Cyprus Guides. Start: Municipal University Library (St. Andrew’s) End: Medieval Castle Square. 8.30 pm “The Dance of the Third”, Medieval Castle Square The Municipality of Limassol invites everyone, young and old, to come dressed in a different carnivalistic spree with music and dance with DJ Mad Max. PELLOMASK AND SMART MASK Competition – Awards for the three best ambassadors.

Wednesday 26 February 2020, 7.30 pm Limassol Male Tetraphony Municipal Cultural Center of Panos Solomonides The venue is transformed into a music scene with Limassol Men’s Tetrapedia in old cantades and carnivalist songs, reminiscent of the beautiful romantic times.

Thursday 27 February 2020 7.30 pm EVENING CARNIVAL Rider Start: Grigori Avxentiou Square (Administration) End: Medieval Castle Square The Municipality of Limassol in cooperation with the Association of Friends of Limassol Carnival is also organizing this evening the Carnivalist Podarati with the slogan ‘Night Walkers’. The Batukinio Percussion Team and the Limassol Cheerleaders participate. King Lemesius will lead the Maharaja of the city with his entourage. 8.30 pm “The Dance of the Fifth”, Medieval Castle Square The Municipality of Limassol invites you to the big dance on Thursday to sing and dance with 10 wonderful musicians under the direction of Konstantinos Zorpa. George Kalopedis and Christian Pavlou sing. Maria Kelaidoni and Doros Dimosthenous will also be presenting a special program featuring songs by Lucian Kelaidoni and many other dance songs in the style and spirit of Carnival. Friday 28 February 2020 7.30 pm Children’s Choirs – Pattichio Municipal Theater Cadets and carnivalist songs from the Dreams Choir, the Melodies and Colors Children’s Choir, the Papadakio Municipal Conservatory of Limassol Children’s Choir, the Music Workshop, the Children’s Choir and the Choir Orion and the Piccolo Choir . General Entry: € 5 With us the Cheerleaders of the Cyprus Driving Corps.

8:30 pm TEPAK University of Technology Square “THE BIG STREET PARTY – CARNIVAL EDITION Vol.6” The Municipality of Limassol in collaboration with Choice FM, CLIK FM and GREEK CHOICE FM radio stations are organizing for the 6th consecutive year the carnival BIG STREET PARTY. Music by distinguished DJs, dance shows and other surprises.

Saturday 29 February 2020 10.30 am Hellenic Bank (former Limassol Cooperative Savings Bank, Gladstone Street) The Limassol Municipality train will make trips to the city center. The first route starts at 10.30 am. Priority will be adhered to for all children who come to the site. Pellomassic workshop by last year’s Queen of Treella, Monica Pieridou. Bring with you your colorful scraps and “patiurka” to dress your Pellomask! 

12.00 pm The lunchtime table at the Independence Market with the Canadians Arions. 3.00 pm The Limassol Old Car Club on a carnival route in the city. They will start from the Aerial parking lot, ending at Grigori Avxentiou Square. 6.30 pm Parade of Canadians Candidate groups will gather outside the Municipal Hall at 6.00 pm. and at 6.30 pm they will begin a melodic stroll through city streets ending in Grigori Aksentiou Square.

From 5.00 pm will sing at the Grigori Aksentiou Square Voice of Georgia Protopapa Vocal Choir and the Musical Wanderings Choir. Limassol Municipality invites you to sing and dance with the Canadians by drinking a glass of wine.

Sunday 1 March 2020 Grand Carnival Parade – Archbishop Makarios III Avenue Start: Agios Nikolaos Traffic Circuit Conclusion: Fairway Traffic Lights 1:00 pm Parade of Limassol Philharmonic Orchestra, Cyprus Guides Corps, Cadets, the Batukinio Percussion Group and the Limassol Cheetahs. The Batukinio percussion group raises the pace of the carnival before the parade begins. 

1.15 pm Parade led by King Lemesio of the Maharaja of the City and his entourage, with chariots and pedestrians in the rhythm of single music. The impressive tanks of the Limassol Municipality will enrich this year’s parade. The collection of tanks will begin at 8.30 am. along Makarios III Avenue, from the Traffic Lights to Agios Nikolaos. During the carnival parade, the Municipality of Limassol will honor our fellow citizens for their valuable contribution to the Limassol Carnival. 

9:00 pm Carnival Dance – Old Port Square We bid farewell to the Limassol Carnival with a festive open-air carnival dance, masquerades and music, with DJ George Asimen. PELOMASKI AND SMART MASK Competition – Awards for the three best ambassadors.

VEHICLE PARKING On Sunday 20/02/2020, use the private parking in the city center and the Municipal parking lots on the ground, Spyrou Araouzou and Ankara Street. For the Children’s Parade 23/02/2020 and the Grand Parade 1/03/2020, use the free parking spaces of TEPAK, the parking lot, in front of the Municipal Cultural Center “Panos Solomonidis” and all municipal areas.
