On August 31, the city officially opened the updated municipal market. The space with shopping malls, cafes and coworking spaces is now called Limassol Agora. The opening was preceded by several days of pilot work for a limited number of visitors.
According to the project team, Limassol Agora will become an important center for cultural life and gastronomic tourism. Here you can taste traditional Cypriot dishes, pizza, pasta, grill, Lebanese and Mexican cuisine, burgers and seafood. The building also houses a conference room, a Moroccan-style bar and a rooftop lounge. There is a bakery, a fruit shop, you can buy cheeses and sausages, meat and many other products.
The municipal market first opened its doors in 1918. The modern reconstruction of the building and its premises took two years.
